ACNS advocates on behalf of neurophysiologists at the federal and state level so they can continue to deliver high quality care to their patients. Our advocacy will include helping you with issues including practice of neurophysiology, and educating patients, lawmakers and members of the media about the value of clinical neurophysiology in diagnosis and treatment of neurologic disorders.
Beginning with the revisions to the Medicare fee schedule in the early 90s, ACNS recognized the need to monitor and provide input into the regulation of practice through Medicare. ACNS retains consultants and has committed other resources to this effort. Recognizing that de facto regulation of practice also takes place through the CPT process, ACNS has representatives in key committees that update CPT codes, and in the House of Delegates of the AMA.
