Annual Course Speaker Compensation

The Annual Courses to be held Wednesday, February 10 - Friday, February 12, 2021.

Annual Course Speaker Compensation has been determined by ACNS policy as follows for Annual Course Speakers.

In appreciation of your participation, ACNS is pleased to extend to you complimentary registration to any Annual Course. In addition, as a condition of meeting all the deadlines set forth in the Planning Timeline, ACNS will cover the cost of one night’s stay at the headquarters hotel, The Roosevelt New Orleans. Speakers who successfully meet all deadlines set forth in their invitations are eligible for the “deadline incentive” detailed in the ACNS Speaker Compensation Policy.

Annual Course speakers will receive complimentary registration to any Annual Course (this does not apply to Annual Meeting Sessions which are held Friday-Sunday), which includes the option to claim CME credit, for the course in which they are presenting. Speakers must register for any additional Annual Courses and pay for the Annual Meeting if they choose to attend.

Annual Meeting Speaker Compensation

The Annual Meeting is held Friday, February 12 - Sunday, February 14, 2021.

Annual Meeting Speaker Compensation has been determined by ACNS policy as follows for Annual Meeting Speakers.

In appreciation of your participation, ACNS is pleased to extend to you complimentary Annual Meeting registration (a $400 value). In addition, as a condition of meeting all the deadlines set forth in the Planning Timeline, ACNS will cover the cost of one night’s stay at the headquarters hotel, the Hilton Austin. Speakers who successfully meet all deadlines set forth in their invitations are eligible for the “deadline incentive” detailed in the ACNS Speaker Compensation Policy.

Annual Meeting Speakers must log in to registration site to complete their registration. The registration site will recognize them by their email address and will allow speakers to complete their registration (detailed instructions below). If an Annual Meeting speaker would like to attend any of the Annual Courses scheduled on Wednesday, February 10 - the morning of Friday, February 12, there will be additional registration fees associated.

Annual Meeting and Course Speaker Housing Information

Deadline Incentive = 1 hotel night in the ACNS group block at the conference hotel The Roosevelt New Orleans per eligible talk† 
Eligible talk – presentations of 30 minutes or more, panel participation not eligible for incentive.

Annual Meeting and Course Speakers are responsible for making their own reservations in the ACNS group block at the conference hotel the Hilton Austin. Please book your reservation. Reservations made outside of the group block at the host hotel, through a third party vendor or at a separate hotel will not be eligible for the deadline incentive. If you meet all deadlines outlined in your speaker invitation ACNS staff will update the billing of your reservation to include the complimentary night.

Speaker Compliance with Deadlines

Speakers are expected to comply with deadlines set forth in their speaking invitations as follows:

  • Acceptance of speaking invitation                                  As set forth in speaker invitation

Annual Meeting speakers - Slides required for CME review, speaker ready room. Handouts are not provided.

Speakers who successfully meet all deadlines set forth in their invitations are eligible for the “deadline incentive” detailed in the ACNS Speaker Compensation Policy.

Speaker Compliance with CME Policies and Standards

Speakers in ACNS educational activities are expected to comply with all ACCME and ACNS policies and standards related to independence of education from commercial influence.

Speakers found to be in violation of any policy or standard shall:

  • Upon first offense – Receive a warning letter, explaining the violation and future action if repeated;

  • Upon second offense – Receive a one-year suspension from speaking in all ACNS educational activities; and

  • Upon a third offense – Receive a multi-year suspension from speaking in all ACNS educational activities.

Panel discussants will not receive additional reimbursement beyond the speaker incentive they receive for symposia presentations.

Travel Expenses

Travel expenses will not be reimbursed and will be at the responsibility of the speaker. Exceptions must be approved by Course, Program and Executive Committees.
