Update on Conversion Factor
As we noted in last month’s policy update, Congress did not include a fix to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule’s conversion factor in the end-of-year legislative package allowing the 2.83 percent cut to go into effect on January 1, 2025.

CMS Announcement for California Wildfires
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) declared a public health emergency on January 7, 2025 in California and announced that it will provide waivers and flexibilities to providers and hospitals that have been impacted by the wildfires and who are in need of support to maintain operations.
